It’s official—Blackpink’s Lisa (aka Lalisa Manoban) is M.A.C. Cosmetics’ new global brand ambassador. This appointment makes the 23-year-old the first female K-pop idol to hold such a title with the make-up brand—EXO’s Lay Zhang joined the brand as their male muse earlier this year. Fresh off the launch of Blackpink’s The Album and their Netflix documentary, Light Up The Sky, Manoban will now be the face of M.A.C. Cosmetics’ covetable collections, key campaigns and upcoming projects, and news is, she’ll also be working closely with the M.A.C. Cosmetics artists to showcase her signature looks, go-to make-up products, skincare rituals and beauty secrets to all her fans.

On the announcement of her new role, the Thailand-born superstar said: “I have always been a big fan of M.A.C. [Cosmetics]! I like how the brand turns make-up into a form of self-expression, which always gives me great confidence on stage. Together with M.A.C. [Cosmetics], I am excited to invite and empower more audiences as we both have individuality and diversity at our core”.
And to mark this major partnership, Manoban shared her points of view with the brand and Vogue on the power of make-up, inspirations on set, and what’s driven her all these years:
What does beauty mean to you, and how would you say it empowers you?
To me, beauty is confidence. I think beauty comes from one’s confident inner self and one’s attitude. Make-up and styling are the cherries on top of your beautiful inner-self!
Where do you get your make-up inspiration for shoots?
I am constantly reviewing make-up looks for inspiration. When I’m on set, I like suggesting make-up styles that I have been eager to try. I will work together with the make-up artist to finalise the look over different attempts until we eventually find the vibe I’d like to express for that shoot.

What’s kept you driven all these years?
I would say Blackpink members and my fans are my driving forces. Thank you for always being there for me through all the happiest and the saddest moments. I am truly grateful.
How do you feel to be the newest brand ambassador for M.A.C. Cosmetics?
I’m a huge fan of M.A.C. Cosmetics and have been a loyal user for a long time, so it’s really a dream come true to have the opportunity to serve as an ambassador for the brand. It is truly at the forefront of trendsetting make-up, which I am reminded of every time I see a new campaign or incredible looks by their artists created backstage at fashion week shows around the world. It’s an honour to partner with a brand with such heritage and unrivalled expertise in make-up artistry. I am thrilled and looking forward to this journey!
