Balenciaga opens couture store in Paris
Since returning to its haute couture roots last year, Balenciaga is extending the vision of Cristobal Balenciaga in the form of a physical couture store at 10 Avenue George V. Having opened its doors to shoppers on July 6, Balenciaga clients can expect only the finest craftsmanship and exclusive offerings available at the store. Unlike couture fittings of the past, clients at the new Balenciaga store will be able to bring home their latest haute couture designs immediately instead of going through months of fittings, as the brand’s atelier is located conveniently in the same building. Besides offering limited-edition pieces for men and women, the store will also be exhibiting one-off objects ranging from artisanal goods to tech. Most recently going on sale in store is Balenciaga’s latest creation with Bang & Olufsen, as Denma debuts his take on audio and fashion—a speaker hybrid bag featuring a hard shell.

Virgil Abloh museum in Brooklyn opens doors to visitors till 2023
Since the tragic passing of fashion luminary Virgil Abloh in November last year, the Brooklyn Museum is now welcoming visitors to its latest exhibit, Virgil Abloh: “Figures of Speech”. A retrospective exhibition devoted to the late designer’s work spanning the past two decades of his practice, showgoers can expect to see collaborative pieces with Takashi Murakami, musician Kanye West, and more. The showcase will present never-before-seen objects from the designer’s archive, as well as a collective space for performances and gatherings, which according to the museum—is a deliberate design choice to counter the lack of space given to Black artists in cultural institutions historically. The tickets will be available online from now until January 29, 2023, at the Great Hall located on the 1st floor of the Brooklyn Museum.
