Since bursting into the music scene in 2015, Dua Lipa has captivated us with her sultry vocals, globetrotting adventures, and, of course, a killer sense of style. A scroll through the British-Albanian singer-songwriter’s feed, that is flanked by more than 87 million followers, lets you in on her enviable wardrobe. In fact, calling her style evolution one of the greatest glow-ups of all time doesn’t quite cover it.
2023 stood out as a crowning moment for Lipa in the fashion sphere. Along with long-time collaborator and close friend Donatella Versace, she co-designed ‘La Vacanza,’ a Versace capsule that was unveiled in Cannes. In that same month, Lipa presented the 2023 Met Gala as the event’s co-chair. And who could forget Barbie? Throughout the film’s press tour, Lipa’s streak of Barbie-inspired looks, of confectionary shades and ultra girly silhouettes, consistently broke the internet.

Then in 2024, Radical Optimism happened. The drop signalled a major gear shift on Lipa’s style front. She debuted a hot-headed metamorphosis, shifting her style in an edgier, more daring direction. So daring she was—that she picked up a new stylist, Jahleel Weaver, right before embarking on a sold-out world tour. The custom-made Mugler and Balenciaga bodysuits of Future Nostalgia were replaced with secondhand band tees, basic micro shorts, and plain studded belts. It’s clear that Lipa is taking more fashion risks with Weaver’s support—and we’re here for it.

Singapore will mark the first stop in the Radical Optimism tour, not counting Lipa’s promotional standalone shows across Europe and the recent music festivals she has headlined. So, it’s hard to predict what her upcoming tourdrobe might serve. But a few things have been kept constant in her Radical Optimism style era so far: leather, hardware, and commissioned customs galore. Weaver has since dressed her in custom Chrome Hearts stage-wear teetering on bondage, luxed-up Ludovic de Saint Sernin sets, bedazzled see-throughs courtesy of Miu Miu, and, of course, lace-trimmed Versace minis made for the inimitable muse.
So, as Vogue Singapore gears up for the sold-out Singapore stop on the Radical Optimism tour, we look back at the recent times Dua Lipa has cemented her sartorial It factor on the stage.
