Brought to you by Dior‘s artistic director for womenswear Maria Grazia Chiuri and the atelier’s petite mains, the Dior haute couture spring/summer 2022 will be revealed very soon later today from Paris. As with every season, we look to les petite mains, the storied fixture that’s made out of many hands to create and assemble every piece of couture clothing—with an eye of precision that results in perfect handiwork.
Last season, Chiuri envisioned a collection that was all about reconnecting—in light of the house’s first physical show after three digital seasons—as she reflected on the pandemic’s impact on fashion. Weaving together a renewed vigour for togetherness, acknowledgement for the unsung heroes behind the tapestry, as well as her feministic disposition, the last collection signified an important message embedded within the seams.
