The woman reigns every time a Dior show is put forward. Under the mighty needle of Maria Grazia Chiuri, there never fails to be an exploration and empowerment of feminine strength. And this comes through the garments and the show’s elaborate set. Last season, at the spring/summer 2024 show, Italian visual artist Elena Bellantoni was enlisted to design a pop art spectacle—a bold veer from the typical Dior runway—decorated with flashy slogans that read: “I don’t belong to anyone else/Your body is poetic/Your body is political” across the show space. Recall also its fall/winter 2023 presentation in Mumbai, India, that served as a fashion milestone for the house. Collaborating with artisans under the Chanakya atelier in Mumbai, who were the deft hands behind the collection’s stunning embroidery work, Chiuri also became an official donor for Chanakya’s School of Craft—where low-income women study embroidery amidst male-dominated tradition.
Tonight, as yet another page is turned for the house, we can expect the same unwavering stance from the Dior’s creative director. At its front row? House ambassadors like Jisoo, Jennifer Lawrence, Tu Tontawan will be in attendance, alongside Seventeen’s Mingyu, Heart Evangelista and Liu Yu Xin.
Happening live from Paris, tune into the livestream and be amongst the first few to catch the Dior fall/winter 2024 collection, on Tuesday, 27 February at 10PM Singapore time.
