Show: Chloé fall/winter 2025
Designer: Chemena Kamali
Location: Tennis Club de Paris
The vibe: Chemena Kamali reminds us that the Chloé woman is real—existing in a realm of both pared-back and over-the-top, because both can be true. It was fitting today that the inspiration for Chloé’s fall/winter 2025 collection was about romanticising the past. The brand has long had a hold on the feeling of nostalgia, bringing back a legion of dedicated followers with the introduction of some of the most woman-focused It pieces the industry has seen in a while. Hosted in the beautiful interiors of the Tennis Club de Paris, the set—as has become standard with Chloé shows—was a simple wash of pastels, with an injection of disco-like glittering panels. In the audience? A legion of a new era of Chloé girls, from Gemma Chan and Laufey to Doechii and Red Velvet’s Seulgi, each one looking impeccably cool—but beyond that, branded with their own version of Chloé-infused elegance.
The vision: “For me the Chloé woman feels real, and that honesty and connection resonates deeply with women across generations. What I love about Chloé is its relatability. Women connect in a way that is shared and personal and with a certain complicity that is part of who we are, we relate to one another. As a woman, I try to listen to myself to capture the house’s spirit in an honest way,” shares Kamali. And while the authenticity of a brand’s story might come into question from time to time, Kamali has walked the talk. It’s evident in the way women naturally gravitate to what she brings to the table–armed with a confidence that they are truly able to make it their own. Holding court throughout the show was a painting of the Chloe archetype: oversized glasses, bags perched over the arm and a walk that only comes from having places to be.
What to shop from the collection: I’ll be the first to admit that the covetability of this collection had almost no limits. I found myself either wanting a piece—the gorgeous blocked Camera bag, for example, which came in combinations of suede and beautiful autumnal colours—or admiring the buttery silk slip dresses paired with leather flats, envisioning the myriad ways one might style them. Then, Alexa Chung walked the show; two-piece tiered crop tops and skirts (with pockets!) won the heart of every woman in the room, and finally, tassels of beautifully frayed fur and leather swung from necks and hips. Barely-there slip dresses and soft leather flats made occasional appearances throughout the line-up. Ease and desirability might not always exist on the same plane in fashion, but Kamali has a feel for it like no other.
