Brunello Cucinelli is quintessential in its representation of luxury Italian fashion. Founded in 1978, the heart of the brand lies in its expertise and reimagination of cashmere. This craftsmanship has extended to other facets of the label, introducing consumers to a world of exceptionally decadent fabrics, such as its silk Mongolian knit. Fast forward to Milan Fashion Week spring/summer 2025, and the brand—now helmed by the Cucinelli family, with Camilla Cucinelli as the co-head of womenswear, son-in-law Alessio Piastrelli as the creative director of menswear, and second son-in-law, Riccardo Stefanelli, as CEO—offers up a wide range of pieces for customers to choose from. With a robust selection of womenswear, menswear, bags, and other accessories, it has transformed into a reaffirmation of a lifestyle called “gentle luxury.”At the fashion week presentation at Casa Cucinelli on Viale Montello 16, titled ‘Echoes of a Journey’, the worlds of a Mediterranean coast and a tranquil desert came together, presenting three facets: vibrant colours, reinterpreted house cornerstones such as utilitarian-meets-functional accents, and travel-ready details.

Amplifying the heart of Brunello Cucinelli, this season re-emphasises, as seen multiple times on the runways, a sense of easy and casual dressing. Focusing on tailoring, craftsmanship, and minimalism with a polished touch, the result is a selection of masculine-meets-novel matching sets, as well as softened fabrics used on more structured pieces such as blazers and trousers. A major and striking focal point of the collection, however, was its knitwear. A standout top, for example, took 60 hours to make, resulting in a one-of-a-kind piece that emanated three-dimensional beauty. Fashioned out of natural yarn, craquelé-effect embroidery and macramé took centre stage.

Another key highlight was the season’s bags. Working with a tonal and earthy colour palette, the brand’s accessories offering remained true to its mandate of material and craftsmanship, featuring leather and raffia. Sumptuous tasseled pouches, mini top-handles, as well as denim carry-alls were standouts.
