This year, it seems like you’re gearing up for big things in your career. What would you like to do most?
I think I’m at the beginning of my career. I even feel like a new artist. There are many things that I want to do. My dream would be to have a solo concert tour for my fans. Singing brings me a lot of joy. It’s different from acting. With acting you’re on set with a camera and have to wait for the audience’s feedback after the release, but with singing on stage, I feel my fans’ energy and response as I’m performing. Each time before I go on stage, I get an adrenaline rush and it makes me want to go out and meet everyone. Singing also helps me get to know myself better. Recently, I’ve also had the opportunity to work behind the scenes and help with constructing my own music.
If music has inspired you to connect with yourself, what about acting?
Acting teaches me about people’s personalities, the way they feel, the way they think.
“We were born with nothing but we can always add new things to create a meaningful life.”
You’ve talked about the early days of your career where you’d go to 30 castings and not land a role. What have you learnt from that experience?
I know that nothing comes easily. There have been many times when 40 to 50 people would go to a casting and only one would be selected, so it’s normal to not land a role. I realised I wasn’t good enough at that time, but I never gave up becauseI’ve always wanted to learn more. I started without having an acting coach and the comments I received helped me understand the art of acting deeper. Eventually, I got my first job. I believe that every experience will help us grow. Becoming a brand ambassador of Burberry has expanded my world. Having to work abroad for this cutting-edge brand and be a representative has made me understand myself and the brand more, so that we work together in harmony and communicate the same message to the customers.
How have you developed as an actor?
I observe myself every day, or at least try to define my emotions. For example, when I’m angry, my chest feels tight. When I’m sad or I feel numb, it’s like sinking deeper and deeper. If you’re able to thoroughly separate one feeling from another, it becomes easier to convey emotions.
How important are your fans to you?
My fans are always there for me. I never feel alone. They motivate me to be the best I can be because I’m not just doing this for myself but for my fans too.
You used to say that by the age of 40, you wanted to have your own business and live quietly in your hometown, Nakhon Pathom. Do you still want to do that?
I still want that but now I think maybe when I’m around the age of 35 (laughs). The life I live nowadays is at full speed soI’m looking forward to slowing down. It doesn’t mean that I’m going to retire from the entertainment industry. I just want to have a quiet period for a while where I don’t have to worry about moving too fast.
How would you describe your life today in your own words?
Life is all about experiences. We were born with nothing but we can always add new things to create a meaningful life. You just need to look for happiness in every moment. Of course it’s difficult sometimes, but it’s all a part of the journey.
