With Vogue Singapore’s rolodex of V-Day counsel—from gift ideas and last-minute beauty fixes to a step-by-step guide to planning a romantic night in—there isn’t much else that could make the yearly affair any sweeter besides, well, literal sweets, of course. Perhaps you’ve got an intimate dinner planned but are stumped on where to go for dessert. Or even if romance isn’t always on the cards, a sweet treat with your girlfriends will always be a satisfying end to a hearty catch-up. No matter, you’re bound to find a spot with Vogue‘s guide to the best patisseries to visit in Singapore.
While our sunny island’s reputation as a food destination precedes itself, the pastry scene is surprisingly underrated. After all, there are more than a handful of world-class pastry chefs, both homegrown and from abroad, who call Singapore home. From a Dutch chocolatier and pâtissier with a century-old legacy to newly-minted pastry shops born out of COVID lockdown hobbies, our local patisserie scene is as diverse and varied as each of their menus. While some have settled comfortably into their own unique niches—from gourmet eclairs to fluffy cakes and tarts of all shapes and sizes—every single one of these patisseries continue to push the envelope with innovative flavours and extraordinary dining experiences worthy of any occasion.
Below, see the sweetest spots to hit up this Valentine’s Day and beyond.
