Awards season is so jam-packed with glittery, fabulous-looking events that it can be easy to overlook the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Yet over their 30-year history, the SAGs have been host to several iconic pop-cultural moments, from mother-daughter duo Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds sharing the stage to Brad and Jen reuniting with a hand touch.
This year’s ceremony, held at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles on Saturday, boasted no shortage of water-cooler moments in its own right. Here were the best moments from the 2024 SAG Awards:

Kickstarting a string of reunions over the course of the evening—including of the Modern Family cast, the Breaking Bad cast, Elijah Wood and Sean Astin (of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King), and Geena Davis and Jeff Goldblum (of The Fly)—Hathaway and her The Devil Wears Prada costars Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt pulled off a self-referential skit in which Streep claimed she was nothing like her Prada character, and Hathaway responded with one of the most famous lines from the film: “No, that wasn’t a question.” Hathaway even wore cerulean blue, because she commits to the bit!
Ali Wong sweetly spotlighted her mom
After winning a SAG Award for her performance on ‘Beef,’ Ali Wong thanked her 83-year-old mother in attendance. https://t.co/Pc73fPlMmp

The comedian’s 83-year-old mother wore pearls and Tevas to the SAG Awards because, in Wong’s words, “she doesn’t give a fuck.” I think that should serve as inspiration for us all.

Frankly, I think McCarthy should be the one signing foreheads, but then again, I am the world’s biggest fan of her role as Sookie St. James on Gilmore Girls.
Pedro Pascal admitted to being “a little drunk” (onstage!)

“This is wrong for so many reasons,” Pascal told the audience as he accepted his SAG Award for male actor in a drama series thanks to his work on HBO’s The Last of Us. “I’m a little drunk. I thought I could get drunk… I’m making a fool of myself, but thank you so much for this! I’ve been in the union since 1999, so this is an incredible fucking honor. To the nominees, all of you, I can’t remember any of your names right now.” What a deeply relatable king.

…in a good way! Hathaway was visibly moved as Streisand took the stage to deliver her acceptance speech for the 2024 SAG Lifetime Achievement Award, in which the screen and music legend told the audience, “I wanted to be in the movies, even though I knew I didn’t look like any of the other women on the screen… And somehow, someway, it all came true.” I’d cry too if I heard that in person from Streisand, TBH!
