So it came and it went—just like that. This season in the Big Apple, New York Fashion Week heralded a renewed buzz that was sorely missing in recent years. It was six days of back-to-back presentations that involved (most) designers returning with physical shows, which fuelled the following. Models lining the runways; paparazzi out and about; best-dressed celebrities rubbing shoulders at front-row—the sights and sounds that could only encapsulate the excitement of fashion week, pre-pandemic.
This NYFW, we marvelled at the emerging and renowned labels’ presentations; notable mentions to Wes Gordon’s colourful display at Carolina Hererra and Coach’s eclectic collection involving oversized capes and babydoll dresses. While on the streets, the fashion flock conquered the city—decked in colours, sharp tailoring and ostentatious prints. And on top of all the perpetual action, we got to witness the stars descend, whether it be on the runways (cue: the Hadid sisters) or snapping cheeky selfies at front-row.
