This evening, television’s finest hit the red carpet at the 2024 Emmy Awards in style. Celebrating the year’s best TV shows and performances, Hollywood stars such as Selena Gomez, Meryl Streep, Jeremy Allen White, and Ayo Edebiri all gathered in glamourous suits and gowns. Traditional glitz and glamour undoubtedly ruled the night—this was not an evening for dramatic rule-breaking or straying from convention—though unexpected flourishes did allow for the more formal looks to shine in their own way.
Take Edebiri’s custom Bottega Veneta gown. The long, column gown from the resort 2025 collection felt Old Hollywood enough, yet the printed starfish sequins lent an unexpected edge. Ditto for Yellowjackets star Ella Purnell, whose slinky chainmail Rabanne dress gave the classic slip dress a futuristic (and disco-worthy) feel.
The night was also filled with some splendid jewellery moments. Reservation Dogs star Paulina Alexis punctuated her Christian Siriano gown with a custom Joe Big Mountain harness that accentuated her growing baby bump—with the quillwork earrings to match. Jennifer Aniston, meanwhile, wore a glimmering Oscar de la Renta dress with archival Tiffany & Co. jewellery that ranged from the 1920s through the 1960s.
As for some of the best dressed gentleman of the night? Emmys host Dan Levy shined in his Loewe suit and sculptural white top. (Dad Eugene Levy also looked dapper in his tux). Bowen Yang went more contemporary with a cream Bode suit and embroidered V-neck top.
