The Cannes Film Festival has made its mark as an eagerly-awaited celebration of excellence in the world of cinema. Held in the picturesque town of Cannes on the Côte d’Azur, the prestigious event sees a multitude of festival-goers each year, with gala evenings screening approximately 5,000 films and hundreds of cinematic works that are competing for the Palme d’Or and other prized awards. Cannes Film Festival 2024 is no different, with a spectacular line-up of creations for film enthusiasts to look forward to, from industry veteran George Miller’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga to Jacob Elordi’s festival debut in drama Oh, Canada.
With that being said, cinephiles won’t be the only few to benefit from the Cannes Film Festival. Beauty buffs will be keeping their eyes peeled for every extraordinary hair and make-up moment throughout the 12-day event, given the sheer number of immaculately-dressed celebrities that will grace the steps of the Palais des Festivals each night. Thus far, we’ve spotted a fair number of luminous complexions, from Thalia Besson’s glowing mien to Juliette Binoche’s ‘your-skin-but-better’ radiance.
On the hair front, cropped coiffures seem to be a prominent presence. The Cannes Film Festival 2024 jury and president Greta Gerwig, as well as former Victoria’s Secret Angel Taylor Hill made stunning appearances in sleek, styled cuts. Clean, pulled-back manes were also spotted on the likes of Meryl Streep, who accepted her honorary Palme d’Or in a low bun, and actress Anya Taylor-Joy, whose knotted up-do elevated her look.
