She may be just 23 years old, but Rebecca Armstrong—known affectionately as Becky or Becbec—is already among the brightest global stars to emerge from Thailand. Never mind her striking visage: jet-black hair framing a softly sculpted, cherubic face and luminous, knowing eyes. The British-Thai starlet embodies the modern multi-hyphenate, with serious credentials across acting, singing and modelling and a reputation as a bona fide fashion darling. Add to that her life beyond the spotlight—she is currently studying law with criminology and psychology at the University of Essex—and it becomes clear there is a quiet steel beneath the glamour.

Her ascent began in 2020 with a supporting role in TharnType 2: 7 Years of Love. Then came Gap: The Series, Thailand’s first mainstream girl-love drama, which set off a ripple across the industry and found a fervent international audience. Alongside her co-star Freen Sarocha Chankimha, the pair quickly captured hearts and became affectionately known as FreenBecky, a partnership that propelled both actresses into global recognition, raking in over 800 million views worldwide. Chankimha and Armstrong have forged a strong professional relationship, co-starring in The Loyal Pin and Uranus 2324 as well. Now, as she steps into the year ahead, Armstrong is starring as Nanno in Girl From Nowhere: The Reset. Based on the 2018 series of the same name, it was released on Netflix in March. “2026 has been a meaningful year for me so far,” she reflects. “I’ve been exploring new creative challenges while also learning more about myself along the way. It feels like a year of growth.”

She has also just wrapped a shoot in Australia. at the Australian Open 2026 with Vogue Singapore and Ralph Lauren, where she beams about the experience. “The team created such a creative atmosphere and I really enjoyed expressing different sides of myself through fashion.” Here, she talks about stepping into a new role, balancing multiple creative pursuits and what continues to inspire her.
What drew you to Girl From Nowhere and what was the experience of bringing the story to life?
What drew me to the project was the complexity of the character and the story. It allowed me to explore different emotional layers, which is always exciting as an actor. The experience was both challenging and rewarding. There were also a few emotional scenes that stayed with me for a while. Moments like that remind me how powerful storytelling can be and how deeply actors connect with their characters.

What do you think audiences will find most surprising about the series?
I think audiences will be surprised by how layered the story is. It raises questions about human behaviour and choices, which makes it more than just entertainment. Every role teaches me something new, but the ones that challenge me emotionally are the most meaningful. They help me grow both professionally and personally.
You move between acting, music and modelling. How do these different disciplines fulfil you creatively?
Each discipline fulfils a different creative side of me. Acting allows me to tell stories, music feels very personal, and modelling connects me with fashion and visual expression.

When the cameras are off, what helps you stay grounded?
Spending time with people close to me helps me stay grounded. I also enjoy quiet moments where I can relax and recharge. An ideal day off would be something simple: good matcha, time to relax and maybe watching a film or exploring somewhere new. I actually enjoy quiet moments more than people might expect. I like reflecting and observing things around me, which often inspires my work.
You’ve spent a lot of time meeting fans through concerts and other events. What have those moments taught you?
Meeting fans reminds me how meaningful life can be. Their support motivates me to keep improving and doing my best.
“Every role teaches me something new, but the ones that challenge me emotionally are the most meaningful.”
How do you feel you’ve evolved since the beginning of your career?
I think I’ve grown in confidence and self-understanding. Over time I’ve learnt to trust my instincts more as an artist.
How would you describe your personal style right now?
I would describe my style as effortless and evolving. I enjoy timeless pieces with a modern touch. For example, I often wear Polo Ralph Lauren. It’s like everyday outfits. Usually it starts with the mood. Once I know how I want to feel, everything else naturally follows.

What does Ralph Lauren represent to you?
Ralph Lauren represents timeless elegance and strong storytelling. I admire how the brand blends heritage with modern style.
Our issue’s theme is Retrofuture. What does that mean to you?
To me it’s about connecting the past with the future. It’s where tradition meets new ideas.

What can fans look forward to next?
It’s something related to my music. I’m really excited and can’t wait to share it with everyone soon.
