Alexander McQueen has long been lauded for its seamless blend of subversive tropes with traditional tailoring. Best known for its sharp silhouettes and equivocal British-influenced designs, the brand has now added a new signature bag to its already-extensive array of accessories for the autumn/winter 2023 season.

Introducing the Alexander McQueen Seal bag, a versatile chain shoulder accessory constructed in soft quilted leather. Its distinctive feature is the seal emblem, a recognisable motif of the house. Inspired by a Tudor rose and synonymous with nature, the rose is spliced in two, its dissection synonymous with the disruptive designs we have come to enjoy from the McQueen archives.

Featuring an adjustable chain and detachable leather strap for maximum ease of use, the bag can be carried both on the shoulder or across the body. Its cut-out metal Seal closure provides a striking contrast to the body of the bag, in a shiny polished silver and muted gold. Round edges and curved hardware plays on the elegance of the bag, in muted shades of eggshell and jet black as well as a deep ruby. It is also available in two sizes, with the small version of the Seal suited for fashion lovers to carry on the go and adopt as an everyday option.

In line with the bags global release, Vogue Singapore has captured a series of images that highlight the seal bag. Styled with the house’s autumn/winter 2023 ready-to-wear pieces, the imagery is sharp and bold, the shades of the bag bleeding through. In vein with the ethos and design language of the brand, the models pose with an air of seriousness and charm. The end result: A clash of new modernity with references to old history and legacy.
