At the 2024 Emmy Awards, the stars of television brought their glamour and style A-game to the red carpet. An arching theme of the Award’s red carpet looks this year was a sense of old Hollywood. A level of elegance, propriety and formality—made interesting, of course, with stylistic touches that enhance the clothes.
Perhaps the biggest winner of the night was Anna Sawai, of Shōgun fame, who took home her first Emmy win for best actress. On top of her historic win—Sawai is the first actress of Asian descent to receive the award—she was also announced officially as a Cartier ambassador. No surprises, then, as to what jewellery Sawai had on.
Jewels can, of course, bring that added flourish of drama and glamour to a look. Take actress Laverne Cox, for instance, who wore a vintage Alexander McQueen gown and paired its relatively understated top half with vintage Rabanne body chain jewellery.
Lily Gladstone, who was nominated for best supporting actress in a limited anthology series for her role in Under the Bridge, also had a fresh take on red carpet glamour. Gladstone has made a habit of supporting indigenous designers in her red carpet looks, and this time she wore a custom copper breastplate and armour-like jewels created by Sea Wisdom Design.
And it wasn’t just the ladies who had on glittering diamonds. Tyler James Williams, nominated for outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series for his role in Abbott Elementary, had stacks of Tiffany & Co. bracelets on his bare arms and a Schlumberger brooch worn at his collar.
