With wedding branding, no two weddings will look the same. “Wedding branding is the process of creating a distinct visual identity for a wedding,” explains Colin Yeap. “It starts with understanding the couple’s story and dynamic. These observations will then be used to craft wedding collaterals that truly represent the couple best.”
Yeap is one of three co-founders of People Office, alongside Zac Tan and Yip Eunice. Aiming to make weddings fun and unique, the collective of creatives specialises in wedding branding—an increasingly popular trend for those seeking to make their weddings truly one-of-a-kind.
Tan continues, “Wedding branding creates an immersive experience through pre-wedding visuals—a cohesive set of visual content crafted for showcase through photography, videography, illustration, and design.”
It is, in short, wedding personalisation at its best. For those planning for their big day, the trio share how wedding branding can be a game-changer—and what makes a People Office wedding so special.
How did People Office come about?
Yip: Our story began as three friends, each with a different expertise in the creative field. Even with our different specialties, we had a shared passion for storytelling. We recognised this shared interest, and saw a gap in the market for personalised wedding collaterals. Thus, we decided to combine our expertise and passions to create something truly special.
Tan: One of us is obsessed with cameras, another with storytelling through illustration, and the third lives and breathes design. Together, we knew we could bring something different to the table. We’re tired of seeing cookie-cutter wedding collaterals and visuals, and so we set out to create something unique, personal, and unforgettable.
How can wedding branding help to elevate one’s big day?
Tan: Friends and family of our clients would be greeted with well-curated visuals at every touch point. We want our clients to host a wedding that feels truly theirs, and this experience begins even before the big day. After sending out your custom wedding invitations, we’ll proceed to create a set of cohesive content for display on the wedding day.
Yeap: Often, wedding content is monotonously presented, but every couple has a side they wish to be shown. We believe that by showing the couple’s unique side and creating a multi-dimensional story, the couple and their guests can foster a better connection and create lasting memories.
What does a typical People Office wedding look like, and what makes it so special?
Tan: A People Office wedding is a blast, and it’s incredibly meaningful to us because we cherish the celebration of unique qualities with every couple that we work with. No two couples are alike, and that’s exactly why we believe each wedding should be as distinct as the love it celebrates.
Yip: I don’t think there is a single, defined ‘People Office wedding’. If anything, People Office’s focus goes far beyond simply creating wedding materials or capturing photos. We help couples weave a beautiful narrative of their love story.
Is there a general aesthetic or style that People Office leans towards? Or styles that you would be keen to explore?
Tan: We’re always pushing the boundaries when it comes to wedding visuals and all that it encompasses. Our approach leans towards a more editorial aesthetic, aiming to showcase couples in their own unique light while exploring ways to authentically represent who they are.
Yeap: We are exploring anything other than the stereotypical wedding elements, which we try to keep minimal without losing the celebratory touches.
Yip: We’re excited to experiment with various paper and printing methods for our collaterals, as we feel they offer exciting possibilities that enhance and personalise the visual impact of our designs and illustrations.
What are some challenges that people might face when it comes to cohesively putting together wedding visuals—and how can People Office help to alleviate them?
Tan: Much of the stress would come from sourcing and managing different vendors, like photographers, videographers and designers. Different vendors produce different styles of work, and the wedding visuals can end up looking like a messy mix of a myriad of styles. People Office stands as an agency that takes care of all things visual, ensuring cohesiveness across all works that we deliver.
Yip: Planning a wedding can be complex, with countless details and vendors to manage. This is where People Office comes in to take the stress out of the equation, serving as a one-stop execution for all your wedding branding requirements, including photography, invitations, and more.
As a fairly new company, what are you most excited to work on or develop?
Tan: We’re excited to reimagine wedding visuals, to continue developing a style that is unique to People Office, and to work with like-minded couples that appreciate art—people that are not afraid to defy the norms.
Yeap: We look forward to meeting every different couple and sharing their joy. There’s something about weddings and how they are always filled with love and joy that is so contagious. We hope that one day this can become a workspace where creatives aspire to join and share the fun with us.
Yip: We’re excited to push boundaries in the wedding industry. We believe in offering couples fresh, innovative ideas that reflect their unique personalities and stories.
