There are few things that rival the starpower of the quartet that is Blackpink. Over the past seven years, Jennie, Lisa, Rosé and Jisoo have brought their global pull to the world of fashion, partnering with brands such as Chanel, Saint Laurent, Celine and Dior. The latest universal heavyweight to join this Rolodex? American apparel label Calvin Klein. Established in 1968, the brand has been a driving force in revolutionising “American cool” and has since singlehandedly defined trends in the designer underwear, denim and ready-to-wear space.
It’s no wonder then that Calvin Klein continues to tap some of the world’s biggest cultural powerhouses. And while famous faces like Justin Bieber and Michael B. Jordan have fronted their campaigns, Calvin Klein has recently unveiled BTS’s Jungkook as its latest brand ambassador. Following suit is a capsule collaboration with Blackpink’s Jennie, which was unveiled on 4 May.
“Collaborating with Calvin Klein on this capsule has been an exciting progression in our partnership,” shares the star via press notes. “This collection reflects my everyday style and is based on many of the Calvin Klein essentials that have become staples in my wardrobe. I wanted to bring a personal touch to these pieces, which you’ll see reflected in the fit, the colour palette and the details. My aspiration for this collection is that everyone will feel as happy and confident in these pieces as I do.”
Taking cues from Jennie’s playful-meets-casual style, the limited-edition capsule features an assortment of items that range from athleisure to loungewear such as underwear sets, jeans, T-shirts, fleece and knitwear. Sporting minimal silhouettes, expect pieces you can mix and match, from joggers and crewneck sweatshirts to dresses and braelttes. As for the colour palette? Jennie’s coveted style and personality is injected through a sprinkling of lilac, chalk blue and desert beige, topped off with a dainty custom Calvin Klein handwritten logo. The collection will be available on calvinklein.com from 10 May 9.00pm and in Calvin Klein Paragon and ION Orchard stores from 11 May.
