Vogue Singapore welcomes the second iteration of the Vogue Singapore x Singapore Fashion Council Innovation Prize. An initiative born out of the Vogue Foundation’s ambition to drive change for good, the prize equips the next generation of entrepreneurial talent with best-in-class support—priming them for the world stage through industry insights, monetary support and access to a network of resources.

In partnership with Singapore Fashion Council (formerly known as Textile and Fashion Federation, TaFF), the prize encourages emerging fashion entrepreneurs to reimagine the future of fashion through bold ideas that seek to solve real-world problems—attracting applicants with interests across accessible design, eco-sustainability, digital fashion and more.

I am inspired by Vogue’s ambition to find trailblazers from diverse industries who have big dreams and the potential—with the right holistic support—to solve some incredibly challenging real-world problems. I truly believe that diverse talent and cross-sector collaboration speeds up innovation and progress, helping to find new paths forward.

It’s important for me to use my platform to inspire positive change and encourage younger generations to be more sustainable and be conscious in the way they work as they join the fashion industry. The Vogue Innovation prize is such a brilliant way to do this and I am so grateful to Vogue Singapore for involving me and allowing me to spread this message to such brilliant talent.

At its core, innovation is a high tolerance for risk. The founders and creators who are brave enough to envision alternative uses and applications of fashion technology are part of the same historic digitisation movement that gave us Spotify, Netflix and NFTs. The ripple effect of their breakthrough ideas will be felt and I’m excited to support and celebrate these daring risk-takers with the Vogue Innovation Prize.

Innovation is the most integral part of any industry. How to build something from nothing is innovation itself or how to enhance an existing product to excite our consumers or simply bring ideas to life through unique marketing ideas. Everything already exists, it’s how we download and present our version to the world.
