Fresh from a worldwide tour, Dua Lipa isn’t resting on her laurels for long. Having walked in Balenciaga’s haute couture show last week (alongside Nicole Kidman and Kim Kardashian, no less), the singer just showed off a brand new hair colour in campaign photos for her latest collection with Puma.

Hot pink to “make the boys wink”, wrote her hairstylist Chris Appleton, who shared a selection of behind-the-scenes photographs from the shoot. Dua’s raven hair colour was no more–if only for the shoot itself. It is likely the rich and vivid shade of pink is a wig.
Tapping into the current Barbiecore trend, the new shade is unapologetically vibrant and the near-fuchsia hue really suits the singer. To recreate a similarly strong shade like this, look to Bleach London’s The Big Pink Super Cool Colour, a semi-permanent colour mask which delivers brilliant colour (to pre-lightened hair) in just 30 minutes. If you’re dark-haired, you will need to bleach first to create a similar depth of colour.
It’s not the first time the singer has experimented with blush shades in her hair. Back in April 2020, her boyfriend at the time, Anwar Hadid, dyed her peroxide blonde hair rose pink. It quickly began a big lockdown trend—for a while, everyone was trying strawberry tones. Perfect for the months where summer turns to autumn, you just might want to bookmark this one for your next dye job. You won’t regret it.
Below, we chronicle the best of Dua Lipa’s hair transformations—on and off-stage—from over the years.

Dua Lipa took to the Grammy stage in full Versace—with the hair to match. Her hairstylist, Chris Appleton, gave her platinum blonde mane a lived-in effect with visibly darkened roots that paired off her look.

Big on the bow
In the medieval setting of ‘Demeanor’—her collaborative track with Pop Smoke—the singer jazzes it up with framing bangs and a big black bow that peeks just over the top of her crown.

Guess hot pink hair isn’t all that new to her, as we recount her previous experiment withe the shade—back during the COVID-19 lockdown. Whilst in quarantine, Dua opted for a DIY dye and applied cherry-pink to her tresses.

Kicking off a whole new era with ‘Don’t Start Now’, the lead single of her Future Nostalgia album, Appleton dawned a trend-setting two-toned blonde look on Dua: keeping her under-layer a natural shade of black.
