For autumn/winter 2021, Brunello Cucinelli played to its strengths with a collection that was equal parts cosy and tailored. Titled ‘The Touch of Knit’, the brand paid homage to the gamut of knitwear: cashmere, wool, silk, alpaca and mohair. But this season also saw a compelling dash of tailoring: pinstripe suiting, languid wide-legged pants and double-breasted blazers—all of which feel new for the Italian label. At times the styling veered towards casual city wear with berets, acid-wash denim and trousers tucked into welly boots. Travel may be put on indefinite hold for most of us, but there’s no harm in getting a head start on our sweater weather wardrobe.
