While we can thank the 2024 award season and stars like Barry Keoghan and Cillian Murphy for popularising the trend into the mainstream, we must remember where the brooch resurgence truly began: Pharrell Williams’s first show for Louis Vuitton. On the runway, several looks—from casual denim jackets to dressy tuxedos—were embroidered with pieces of bling.
Stars including Mick Jagger, Omar Sy, and Taika Waititi all took their cues from Williams as they attended the Prelude to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. And Williams, who served as a co-host of the evening’s event, made sure to sport the trend with a dazzling brooch of his own design from Louis Vuitton.
