We’re well into the 80th Venice Film Festival—and a number of potential Oscar runners have since premiered at the Lido. Amidst bigger releases such as Ferrari starring the fearsome force that is Adam Driver, Yorgos Lanthimos’s highly-anticipated Poor Things and that of Sofia Coppola’s dreamy response to the Elvis buzz, Priscilla, the cinephiles in the crowd have no doubt been well-fed. Amidst the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike however, it’s clear that the red carpet has definitely seen a tapered-down crowd, in accordance with the collective stance of the entire industry. Nonetheless, there were still a number of films and stars that were allowed to partake in promotions—and were spotted gracing the promenade’s length. See the likes of Emma Corrin, Adam Driver, Sadie Sink and Jacob Elordi.
Arriving to Venice in exquisite fashion is to be expected, but the lauded film festival is also where each celebrity’s team of hair and make-up teams are known to dial up on the glamour. After all, what would an evening of glitz and glam be without an accompanying array of worthy manes and dressed-up faces to match? Between film premieres and exclusive A-list events such as Giorgio Armani’s ‘One Night Only’ event in Venice, we were only rewarded with copious amounts of make-up looks to adore. Whilst Barbara Palvin Sprouse and Camila Mendes blew us away with spectacular gravity-defying updos, Queen Charlotte breakout star India Amarteifio made a case for the operatic blush. The classic allure for elevated sophistication is lost on no one and to that end, one might look to Sydney Sweeney’s bold red lip moment—courtesy of Armani Beauty.
