There’s always something to talk about in the K-Pop scene. It feels as if a group is debuting every other week, and fans are being spoiled with back-to-back releases, promotional tours and all the shenanigans in between. Even for casual listeners however, it’s easy to spot the newer acts who so effortlessly stand out. Case in point? South Korea’s representative for this weekend’s F1 stage: BabyMonster.
Now, this group of girls obviously has the secret sauce to success. The seven of them debuted late last year, yet they’re already racking up millions of hits, streams and followers. Their single ‘Batter Up’ for instance holds the record for the fastest K-pop group debut to hit 100 million views on YouTube. Those chronically online should also be familiar to the group’s subsequent releases like ‘Sheesh’, ‘Forever’ and ‘Like That’—that have been dominating our FYPs on TikTok. It’s no wonder BabyMonster is, quite aptly, referred to as the monster rookie group.

And for a group so young, BabyMonster has already built quite the signature aesthetic. Not only does the septet boasts ties to brands like Pepsi and skincare brand CNP Laboratory, but they are also global partners of Adidas. On stage, the girls are known for being bold and experimental with their hair and make-up, often rocking distinctive eyeliner or sparkly face gems. Such a beauty direction extends to the quirky nail art as seen on the talons of BabyMonster, which help transport them and their fans to the imaginative worlds their music creates. One thing we know for certain? The girls are truly versatile beauty icons.
Ahead of their highly-anticipated performance in town, Vogue Singapore chronicles the best beauty moments from BabyMonster.
